For the past week we have done something completely new for us, we went and stayed on a farm for 4 nights!! Jaden absolutely loved it. He was always out helping with the chores and loved being with the animals. They trusted him with some responsibilities and let him try new things and he really blossomed. It was quite interesting that I actually forgot to take Jaden's medications with us and it was too far away to go back and get them so I was preparing for a pretty tough week, but most of the time it wasn't an issue because when he was out with the animals he was just absorbed in it all and quite relaxed (There were a couple of very stressful times too but overall he did really well without his meds in that environment). Bethy really enjoyed getting involved too and even though she was a bit wary of the animals at first by the end of the week she was being really brave. Elora was a bit unsure about it all but she is still just a bubba.

We got to bottle feed kids and a lamb.

Jaden collected the eggs and fed the chickens.

Jaden got to have a tractor ride.

This was the view out the front of our cabin.

Bethy had a go at helping too.

Jaden learnt about handling horses.

We took a cart ride with a beautiful clydesdale.

Jaden had a go at steering it which was a little freaky but he did quite well.

He also got to ride a horse.

We watched the shearing and the wool was so lovely Jaden liked hugging it.

Bethy helped to clean up.

we rode a pony gig.

There was also a sled ride.
Where we were staying was right near Australia's oldest inland town, Bathurst. We have just spent several weeks learning about the gold rush, bushrangers, coaches etc and guess what... Bathurst was the area of Australia's first gold rush, it was the headquarters of Cobb and Co coaches, and it was raided by Ben Hall a famous bushranger. So we saw some history while we were there too.

This is a restored original Cobb and Co coach.

A big gold panning man as tribute to the area's history.
We also did some other exploring while we were there but i'll save that for another post. There has actually been a lot going on in our lives recently but i've been too busy trying to deal with life to have time to blog about it. For now it's back to the mountain of washing we brought back from the farm with us!!
